The purpose of the FETC: Public Administration is to provide a structured programme for public officials that work in support of senior management officials in providing for service delivery objectives. The need for well-qualified efficient, client-oriented public officials is therefore identified as a priority in all the three spheres of government. The FETC: Public Administration is aimed at practitioners working in the public sector. It is a qualification in a career pathway towards an accomplished public administration and management specialist.
The FETC: Public Administration consists of Exit Level Outcomes covering service delivery, applying public sector policy and legislation in their respective work contexts, identifying and solving problems, communications and administration. The competencies covered in the proposed unit standards encapsulate the competencies required by public officials working at the operational level and responsible for implementing specific service delivery objectives within a public sector departmental context. This qualification enables transferability of skills between the private and the public sector.

To enter this program you must successfully complete the Front Office Assessment successfully. The minimum qualification requirement is Grade 12, with English, a Second Language and Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy.
Recognition of Prior learning will be applicable in certain circumstances. This will be dealt with on an individual basis.

Upon successful completion of the programme, learners will receive an ATTI Statement of Results. This is known as an Intermediate Transcript. ATTI will apply to PSeta on the learner’s behalf for the Further Education and Training Certificate: Public Administration
This course is a Full Qualification The Unit Standards covered will be listed as part of the Qualification with PSETA. To be credited with this National Qualification you need to comply with the set guidelines. Accordingly the endorsement will be issued. After completing the programme you can apply for recognition of prior learning and upgrade into one of the National Certificates within the PSETA, relevant to your qualification level. To be credited with this Qualification you need to comply with the set policies and guidelines.

You will receive a PSETA Certificate and an ATTI Transcript on successful completion of the course. The Certification Title will read: Further Education and Training Certificate: Public Administration NQF Level 4
